A space to honour the cultures, identities, and communities that guide and shape our practice.
A space to honour the cultures, identities, and communities that guide and shape our practice.
Create A Sense of Place acknowledges and pays deep respect to the Ancestors, Elders, and descendants of the Lands on which we live and work. We recognise that these Lands always were, and always will be, Aboriginal Land.
We honour the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, and pay homage to Elders past and present, whose strength and knowledge continue to guide generations.
We are committed to listening deeply, walking alongside community, and creating spaces where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard, valued, and respected.
We honour the strength of those who came before and stand in support of those who continue to lead us forward.
At Create A Sense of Place, we acknowledge the invaluable contributions of people with disability to our work, our communities, and our profession. We recognise the ongoing and historical injustices faced by people with disability and commit to challenging the systemic barriers that continue to exist. We uphold the inherent rights of people with disability and work in partnership to ensure those rights are recognised, respected, and realised. We honour the leadership, insight, and expertise of people with disability—both within our organisation and in the broader community—and we deeply value the collaboration of individuals, families, and communities in shaping inclusive, ethical, and impactful practice.
We acknowledge and honour the insight, strength, and knowledge of people with lived experience of mental ill health, trauma, and psychosocial disability. Your experiences matter. They shape how we walk alongside others, how we challenge systems, and how we create spaces that centre safety, dignity, and healing. We commit to trauma-informed, person-led approaches that recognise the impact of past and present injustice and the value of lived experience in shaping meaningful change.
We recognise and respect the wisdom, resilience, and lived experiences of older people. We honour the diverse paths that have shaped your lives and acknowledge the ongoing contributions you make to families, communities, and culture. We are committed to working in ways that uphold your autonomy, rights, and voice, and to challenging ageism and systemic barriers that impact wellbeing and inclusion.
We affirm neurodivergence as a natural and valuable part of human diversity. We acknowledge the strength, creativity, and unique perspectives of neurodivergent individuals, and we are committed to providing affirming, respectful, and accessible support. We recognise the role of systemic discrimination and misunderstanding in creating barriers, and we strive to co-create environments where neurodivergent people are seen, heard, and genuinely included — on their own terms.
At Create A Sense of Place, we recognise and affirm the diversity of gender identities and experiences. We are an inclusive organisation committed to creating safe, respectful spaces where every person feels seen, heard, and valued. We honour the identities of the people we support and work alongside, and we are intentional in ensuring our practices reflect dignity, affirmation, and genuine respect for all.
