Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

Psychosocial Recovery Coaching

We see Psychosocial Recovery Coaching as an opportunity to come beside people and support them with recovery oriented practice.   We understand that trauma is not the same for everyone and “recovery” is not a goal or destination but an orientation and an approach.

As a result, we use a “trauma informed” practice model and take the time listen to each Participant as an individual.  Our process involves  supporting Participants to identify what is most important to them.   From there, we work towards building capacity by creating a plan and taking each step with the individual.  This may (or may not) involve sharing information, connecting them to external service providers, helping them access resources or learning how to implement tools that already exist in their lives.

Our understand that recovery oriented relationships are based on respecting the individual and giving them unconditional positive regard along with setting and implementing healthy boundaries.  We are optimistic about each individual’s capacity for progress and hold space for hope in their future.

We understand that “Recovery” can be a winding road and will look different for each individual and so, we look for successes and celebrate them along the way.

We see PRC as a different set of skills to Support Coordination and all PRC practitioners have additional experience or training in mental health oriented practice.
