Sexual Health, Sexuality & Relationship Support

At Create A Sense of Place, we believe in supporting the whole person—and that includes the essential areas of relationships, sexuality, and sexual health.

We understand that people with disability deserve access to education, support, and guidance in these areas—just like everyone else. Our Founder and Chief Visionary Officer, Brigette Kirkpatrick, has long been a dedicated advocate for equality and opportunity in this space, helping to break down stigma and create safe, informed, and respectful conversations.

A Tailored and Individual Approach

This is a highly individualised service, designed specifically around your needs, goals, and level of understanding. Support can be delivered:

All too often, behaviour support plans are created to manage or change a behaviour—without exploring the underlying cause. But what if the behaviour is someone’s way of communicating deep sadness or distress?

Our Approach

This is a highly individualised service, designed specifically around your needs, goals, and level of understanding.

Support can be delivered:

One-on-one

In couples

Or in group sessions

Topics may include relationships, consent, personal development, sexual health, boundaries, communication, and identity.

Services We Offer

Assessment of Sexual Knowledge (ASK)

This comprehensive assessment uses illustrated questions to explore an individual’s level of sexual knowledge. It identifies strengths, gaps in understanding, and areas where education or safeguards may be needed.

A detailed report is provided, including:

  • Recommendations for learning and capacity building
  • Strategies for reducing the risk of abuse or exploitation
  • A foundation for developing a personalised education plan

Supporting My Sexuality (SMS) Program

This tailored program supports individuals in exploring and understanding their sexuality. It is recommended that the Assessment of Sexual Knowledge be completed first, so the SMS program can be designed around the individual’s unique learning needs and goals.
