Welcome to Create A Sense of Place, a values-driven organisation dedicated to working alongside people with disability to navigate life’s challenges, build meaningful connections, and achieve personal goals.
Our Founder and Chief Visionary Officer, Brigette Kirkpatrick, established Create A Sense of Place to respond to the need for authentic, values-driven care. Since 2016, we’ve provided therapeutic services across the Hunter region—and now offer support throughout NSW, QLD, WA, and Australia-wide via telehealth.
To us, a sense of place is the deeply personal connection a person feels to who they are, where they belong, and what gives their life meaning. It’s the intersection of identity, purpose, community, and control.
We believe that everyone deserves to feel emotionally, spiritually, and physically grounded in their world—to have a place where they feel safe, seen, and empowered.
Our role is to walk alongside people as they discover their voice, explore what’s possible, and take ownership of their life. We don’t speak for people—we amplify their voice until it’s heard.
A world where people with disability are heard, respected, and supported to live a life that is truly their own—rich in connection, purpose, and possibility.
To create safe, respectful spaces where people with disability can express themselves freely, build meaningful relationships, and access the right support, on their terms. We do this by delivering ethical, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services that prioritise human rights, genuine connection, and individual choice at every step.
We offer therapeutic NDIS supports that are grounded in human rights, connection, and real-life outcomes. Our team works alongside people with disability to navigate challenges, build on strengths, and create support that truly fits.
Whether it’s behaviour support, counselling, therapeutic planning, or working through complex systems, we centre our work on lived experience and meaningful outcomes — not just paperwork. We understand that every person’s path is different, and we honour that by providing support that’s flexible, responsive, and yours.
