Kim Tipoki serves as the General Manager at Create A Sense of Place, bringing over 20 years of experience in the community sector to her role.
Throughout her career, Kim has gained valuable insights, particularly during her tenure as a Support Worker, where she provided assistance to individuals older than herself. Guided by the principle of honoring each person’s unique preferences for support, she developed a deep understanding of empathetic leadership.
Kim attributes her leadership journey to the alignment of her values with those of the organizations and managers she has worked with. Known for her transparency and unwavering commitment to excellence, she pledges to give her utmost in all endeavors.
Her passion lies in witnessing both individuals and organizations thrive. Drawing on her diverse skill set in Mental Health, Disability Work, Business Administration, and Community Sector Management, Kim is adept at fostering growth and success.
Kim’s accomplishments include her selection for a prestigious NDS Disability Sector Leadership Program in NSW and serving as a panel member for an NDS NSW State conference. She excels in leading teams through challenges, mentoring staff, and developing strategies for achieving organizational goals.
Inspired by the joy of witnessing others succeed, Kim cherishes her role in people’s lives, no matter how big or small their victories. Grounded in the Maori proverb “He aha te mea nui o te ao. He tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata,” she prioritizes the value of human connection above all else.
Outside of work, Kim finds fulfillment as a devoted mother and basketball coach, balancing her time between family, professional commitments, and coaching responsibilities.
